This is the industrial workshop of Han Soonja, Seoul Intangible Cultural Properties No. 16. Chogo means grass and straw, referring to the industrial arts made of grass and straw. Mats and floor cushions, patterned in the style of hwamunseok and made of rushes, are among the traditional folk industrial arts of Korea. These mats are spread out when receiving guests, and is a necessary gift for every bride after the wedding. Hwamunseok mats are cool in summer since they absorb sweat, and are warm in winter since they block the cold.
